Dozens of slum dwellers compete for meat while slaughtering a cow injured when a cattle truck carrying 22 cows overturned on a highway across from the Las Flores and Granada slums in Argentina's second-largest city, Rosario, March 23, 2002. With no end in sight, Argentina's economic crisis continues to worsen, submerging nearly half the country in poverty with an estimated one-fifth of its population jobless. The owner of the cattle decided to donate the animals to the slum residents when he saw their level of poverty.
